In conventional medicine, hormonal balance, the immune system and our psyche are often considered and treated separately. However, these three areas are closely interlinked and influence each other. It is therefore not surprising that only insufficient therapeutic successes are often achieved.
Hormonal Balance as Part of Holistic Medicine
The interaction of these 3 systems is now summarized under the term “neuro-endocrino-immunology” or, as it has been known for much longer in naturopathy and alternative medicine, under the term “holistic medicine.”
An imbalance in neuro-endocrino-immunological interactions is involved in the development of many diseases. It thus provides a new approach to understanding the biology of diseases and using these findings for diagnostics and therapy.
In accordance with our practice concept, it is therefore not just about looking at one of these systems, but about balancing both the immune system, fine-tuning the hormone system in the event of imbalances and strengthening the nervous system, as this can have a direct influence on the other systems.
A strong “nervous constitution” is usually a prerequisite for overcoming serious or even life-threatening illnesses.
In this respect, you will find exactly these 3 pillars of holistic therapy in our therapeutic offer.
Hormonal Balance – the Therapy
The sole consideration of the immune system without psychological stabilization, a comprehensive diagnosis of all systems and holistic therapy can be particularly important in serious diseases such as
cancer
, autoimmune diseases or other
chronic conditions
often do not lead to the goal.
Hormones are vital messengers and contribute significantly to our well-being. Women in menopause know very well what significant limitations the hormonal change can have on their quality of life.
But also many common diseases, such as osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus, thyroid enlargement (goiter), etc. are largely due to an imbalance in the hormonal balance. Causes for these disorders can in turn lie in the hormone glands themselves, but also have holistic causes.
Almost every body function is controlled by the interaction of hormones and in this respect we see hormonal imbalances in many diseases:
- Psychological complaints (irritability, mood swings, sleep disorders, depression, inner restlessness)
- Hair loss, dry skin, brittle fingernails
- Cycle disorders
- Unfulfilled desire to have children, reduced libido, menopausal symptoms
- Weight gain
- Fatigue and listlessness
Hormones are measured both in the blood and urine and, in particular, the sex hormones, via saliva, and in this respect a hormone analysis involves little effort.
Essential parameters of our hormone analyses include:
- Thyroid diagnostics (TSH, fT3, fT4, rT3)
- Diagnostics of sex hormones (especially progesterone and estrogen)
- Stress hormone analysis (cortisol)
- Analysis of neurohormones (dopamine, adrenaline, noradrenaline, etc.)
- Tryptophan-serotonin metabolism (incl. melatonin)
