Nutritional Therapy so many Concepts – so Little Orientation
Nutritional therapy plays a central role in naturopathy and complementary medicine.
Changes in our lifestyle and our current diet have a significant impact on our health and well-being.
This is characterized by an increasing consumption of inferior foods and industrially produced convenience foods, modern eating and drinking on the go. But also by too many calories with a simultaneous lack of high-quality ingredients as well as a lack of exercise and stress compensation.
This may only become noticeable later, after many years, and the first signs are ignored for the sake of beloved habits. A feeling of fullness and reflux after eating is considered normal, heartburn as bearable, and changes in excretions as unimportant. The list is unfortunately much longer.
The consequences of our eating habits are:
- Acidification of the body
- Sodium excess and thus possibly weakening of the immune system, too high blood pressure and kidney diseases
- High abdominal circumference with negative effects on the hormone balance and the immune system
- Too low a fiber content with consequences for the intestine and excretion
- Lack of important micronutrients
- Unfavorable fatty acid pattern which, due to an omega-6 excess, leads to a promotion of the willingness to inflammation.
All this can lead to disturbances of well-being and later diseases of the immune, cardiovascular, and even the nervous system. Via the liver, the brain is directly connected to the intestine and leads to changes there, up to depression and anxiety.
Nutrition is regarded as an important cause of the so-called “silent inflammation”. Inflammation, in turn, is closely linked to the development of cancer. Other causes are smoking, obesity, chronic stress, lack of exercise and environmental toxins.
Special attention is paid to a healthy intestinal flora, as disturbances can have direct effects on our immune system. The intestine is the largest defense organ of our body and is of immense importance for our immune defense. The prevention and therapy (
intestinal rehabilitation
) of a Leaky Gut Syndrome is therefore central to our concept.
Nutritional Therapy Means Change
Those who eat consciously and healthily know that eating and well-being are very closely interwoven. Healthy eating does not have to do with renunciation and effort, but with change. And the willingness to do so is essential. The body heals itself when our systems are in balance.
Conscious and healthy eating can be a great and beautiful new experience. Take time to prepare food, enjoy the food or celebrate with friends and family and let your soul dangle for a while. Soul heals.
Nutritional Therapy or Diets – What Makes Sense?
Effects due to long unfavorable eating and living habits cannot be reversed in a short time. For a long-term positive course, however, a change is necessary. This does not mean short-term diets, but long-term healthy eating.
A change in eating and living habits can also help in the short term to improve the results of other therapies, reduce side effects and increase well-being.
In the context of serious diseases, various forms of nutritional therapies or diets can be useful. We are often asked whether a vegan diet or keto diet can be useful for cancer, whether intermittent fasting could help reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, or whether a paleo diet can achieve good results in autoimmune diseases. Targeted dietary changes can be quite useful in all these indications.
Of course, a healthy and conscious diet also makes sense for every healthy person and helps in the long term to stay healthy and efficient. Many people lose their orientation with the many diets, nutrition tips and guides. But we need this inner orientation to tackle changes with energy and joy.
We discuss all this with you in detail and design your own individual strategy. Of course, we are at your side during the implementation. Changes take time and patience – but also the fun of it, curiosity and openness.
Food Intolerances, Intolerances, Allergies
In the case of possible food intolerances, we first look for the trigger for your complaints. Through targeted
laboratory analyzes
we can quickly obtain extensive information on possible triggers and, through a targeted elimination diet, achieve a rapid improvement in symptoms.
Food intolerances and intolerances are often caused by damage to the intestine, damaged intestinal flora or a so-called leaky gut, which leads to a disturbance of the barrier function of the intestinal mucosa, antigens can pass into the bloodstream and then cause the symptoms.
In this respect, Leaky Gut diagnostics, microbiome analysis and
stool diagnostics
and in individual cases also
immune diagnostics
belong to the diagnostic repertoire for food allergies and intolerances.
